Think we'd be a good fit?

Wife, former zookeeper, outdoor enthusiast, fur mom of 5, Charlotte North Carolina Wedding Photographer. That's pretty much me in a nutshell!

When I first started my career, I never -pun intended- ”pictured” myself as a wedding photographer. I used to work in the animal care field, as a zookeeper, wildlife rehabilitator, and animal rescue worker. I spent my days raising lions, feeding baby birds, and helping abandoned pets find loving homes. I have so many loving memories of that time in my life, but I have a creative fire that I wanted to share with the world. Capturing beautiful moments in other's lives was what really set my heart ablaze.

Photographing weddings and portraits is one of the most rewarding things in my life. I capture those moments in life that you want to cherish and look back on for years to come. I am so lucky to get to do what I do. Let me be your friend, your hype girl, and your third wheel and together, we can tell the most beautiful story...yours!

Hi, I'm Katie. Either you're here because you just got engaged to the love of your life, you are looking for someone to capture some lifestyle portraits, or you're just here because you love pretty pictures! Whatever the reason, I am glad you're here!

Welcome!

My Beginning

Colored Pencils, Firehose, and No Fear

Many photographers talk about how they always knew they wanted to be a photographer from the start. I'm not one of them. I didn't know I wanted to be photographer until I became one. My journey as a artist, however, started way before I ever picked up a camera.

My creative journey started with a large box of colored pencils and a Strathmore sketch book. I killed numerous pencils and many an hour surrounded in a world full of lines, colors, and endless possibilities. In my first career as a zookeeper, I translated that creativity to building enrichment items for the animals. My mediums changed; I traded in my colored pencils for old, donated, big-cat-destruction-resistant firehose, but the fire to create was always there (and the tigers were loving the firehose beds that came out of it)!

Something I remember well from my younger years was that if something was important to me, I was always ready to go for it. The fear of not doing something I loved was greater than the fear of failing. It's something that's served me well in my photography and something that's lead me to take this great leap of faith to run my own business, and I'm so glad I did! I'm so happy to be here!!
